Post-Offer Testing

Whether You’re an Employer or an Employee, Post-Offer testing Can Benefit You!

When hiring new people to work for you, it is important to know they are the right fit and won’t get hurt on the job. With the tests offered by our Post-Offer testing services, you can help determine if a person is capable of meeting the demands of the job.

Additionally, Post-Offer tests can also pinpoint any areas of weakness that a potential new hire can strengthen. At Trilogy Physical Therapy, we are happy to say we offer these services. Whether you are an employer or an employee, Post-Offer testing can benefit you. To learn more, contact us today to speak with one of our physical therapists in Amherst, Williamsville, Grand Island, Kenmore, West Seneca or North Tonawanda, NY!

Who is this testing for?

Quite simply, this testing can benefit anyone, from employees to employers. The 3 main categories of Post-Offer testing includes:

New Hires:

It is beneficial for new hires to complete Pre-Offer Agility Testing, as well as Post-Offer/Pre-Employment Testing, in order to understand whether or not they can safely perform the demands of the job at hand.

Existing Employees:

Even if you have been with a company for a period of time, it is still important to frequently complete Post-Employment Physical Agility Testing, to make sure your body is still in shape and able to safely perform your job duties.

Injured Workers:

If you have been injured at work, Post-Offer testing can help you return as quickly and safely as possible through Fit for Duty Evaluations and Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCEs).

What Post-Offer tests do you have? How can I get started?

While there are many facets of Post-Offer testing, our employee functionality tests are the most popular. There are two main tests for employment testing: Post-Offer Functional Employment Testing and Fit for Duty Testing.

Post-Offer Functional Employment Testing helps to “Reduce workers’ compensation claims and save money by testing your employment candidate to ensure they can safely do the job.”

Fit for Duty Testing “can help you develop policies and procedures designed to expedite safe return-to-work programming through functional testing.”

Whatever test you or your employees may be in need of, our Post-Offer testing services can help.

Post-Offer Functional Employment Tests will help you:

  • Decrease work-related injuries
  • Lower workers’ compensation costs—by 50% on average during the first year of implementation
  • Reduce turnover
  • Increase productivity by hiring elite workers, ready to contribute
  • Decrease healthcare costs
  • Lower accident rates
  • Less disruption to production when skilled workers become disabled
  • Less disruption to production when skilled workers become disabled

WorkSTEPS has performed thousands of job analyses on thousands of jobs. Depending on your needs, WorkSTEPS can develop test protocols based on existing job descriptions, or can complete an individualized, thorough Job Task Analysis to collect precise data regarding the physical requirements of the job.

“10% of Americans have limitations in the kind of work they can safely perform.“

Our rigorous testing process is administered by our trained and certified network of more than 1,200+ healthcare professionals nationwide, which ensures quality and consistency of our testing methods. Our trained healthcare professionals cumulatively perform thousands of tests each week. On average, one in fourteen assessments result in a “not capable” determination, saving potential employers an estimated $38,000, on average, for each such determination. Pre-Employment Post-Offer testing with WorkSTEPS gives employers confidence they’ve reduced the chance of injuries and improved workplace safety.

Additional Pre-Employment Functional Screenings

If an employer determines that they do not require a test as comprehensive as the WorkSTEPS pre-employment post-offer screening, WorkSTEPS has the ability to work with an employer to customize the testing process to deliver only those measurements and recommendations that an employer needs. We also have the ability to add additional measurements to a comprehensive pre-employment post-offer test. Additional WorkSTEPS screenings include:

Upper quadrant / Carpal Tunnel

The Upper Quadrant/Carpal Tunnel Testing is used to determine capability relative to repetitive job function, rather than heavy material handling tasks. This test may be used independently, as part of the comprehensive Pre-Employment Post-Offer Employment testing, or as a component to the Injured Worker Fit-for-Duty test if necessary.

Vision and Hearing Screenings

WorkSTEPS offers hearing screenings, as well as color-blindness and visual acuity screenings as an optional add-on to the pre-employment post-offer functional assessment. The screenings are not diagnostic, and result in a normal/abnormal recommendation, at which point the candidate can be referred for additional medical clearance by a physician specialist.
