The Importance of Strength, Balance, and Flexibility in Physical Therapy

At Trilogy Physical Therapy, we recognize strength, balance, and flexibility as foundational components in maintaining one’s health and well-being. Each of these play a crucial role in enhancing your quality of life. Muscle strength is vital for everyday activities, from lifting groceries to climbing stairs. Strong muscles support your joints and enhance your ability to perform daily tasks with ease. Balance is essential for preventing falls, especially as we age. Good balance reduces the risk of injuries and helps you stay active and independent. And good flexibility allows you to make more fluid movements, reducing the strain on your muscles and joints, and increasing your ability to move freely without pain or stiffness.

Within our clinic, we take an integrated approach to physical therapy, combining strength training, balance exercises, and mobility routines tailored to your specific needs. Our goal is not only to address your current concerns, but also promote long-term health and well-being. Whether you are recovering from an injury or looking to maintain your health, our team is here to support you on your wellness journey.

Stay strong, balanced, and flexible!

Parkinson’s Physical Therapy Program

While balance, strength, and flexibility are essential for everyone, physical therapy can also be tailored to address specific conditions, such as Parkinson’s disease. Parkinson’s is a progressive neurological disorder that affects movement, often leading to tremors, stiffness, and balance issues. At our Kenmore office, Dr. Tiffany Cao has developed a program to specifically address Parkinson’s, and offer patients a unique, specified approach to care.

Tiffany has devoted her career to helping others reach their best physical function and independence. She is a licensed physical therapist specialized in Movement and Balance Disorders, who advanced her studies and became a certified Lee Silver Voice Treatment (LSVT) BIG clinician. The LSVT BIG program is a research supported therapeutic model specifically for individuals with Parkinson’s and other similar conditions. Through her advanced studies, Tiffany has created an all-encompassing treatment and evaluation plan for patients, and is eager to leverage her expertise and improve the well-being of her patients.
